Last fall I heard from Michele Granger, a professor in the Fashion and Interior Design Department at Missouri State University, about reprinting interviews I had done at some of my old gigs (an old blog, my old college web-magazine) for a textbook she was writing for fashion students. Internet things never go away.

Sarah Rutherford, the woman behind the illustrations of the quickly-welcomed Frankies Spuntino Kitchen Companion & Cooking Manual, is an upstate artist of many talents, including corralling nearby musicians, chefs and other artists for a monthly dinner series at her studio, upstairs from a year-round farmers market in Rochester, New York.
